Maukallacta

Nearby one can find pre-Inca ruins called Maukallacta. These ruins belonged to the Tiahuanaco culture, where the tombs of their dead (called Chullpas) are located. There are many human remains to be seen, usually bones and also ruins of the houses where the forefathers were living.
